Looks fucking tough sitting on the gram lights with the semis :) Does this mean it's driving? Or being on the trailer is it still needing a tune yet?

deNs WROTE: "Looks fucking tough sitting on the gram lights with the semis :) Does this mean it's driving? Or being on the trailer is it still needing a tune yet? ---dens" yeh unfortunetly still needs a tune.. trailer'd it to a mates workshop we're we are wiring + tuning.. had a few little wiring issues with the cdi.. trying to get ahold of the actual reccomended cabling to wire it is almost impossible :(.. but i guess it'll all be done properly, so then all i have to do is plug in a built motor with my weapon turbo and dial 35psi :D... fuck yeh... only thing that's looking a little odd-ball on the outside now is the stock plates.. unfortunetly the plates i want are $2300.. so they might still be on layby for a while hah hopefully i'll be able to give everyone some kind of feedback as to how the car goes within a week or two. as a start, i think we'll only be running 7-8psi through it as this now has to be my daily... so i can play around with the blue car a little :P |

Absolutley stunning mate, Very very nice indeed. I shudder to think what it has cost so far. I'm just adding up the cost of the earls fittings alone and getting the shivers.
Well done mate and hope the tuning and all that goes off without a hitch. Very Keen to see any video of this beatiful little beast in any kind of action. |

well boys and girls.. it has awoken. started it for the first time today.. and let me tell you... the sound of a 3'' exhaust capped off with a titanium tin can sounds sexually drool worthy :D. got her onto the dyno early tonite, first time really playing around with a sm4.. and wow... i know why i had to fork out so much for it,,... and the difference between a budget and high end ecu. all the way through the rev range, the operation/transistion of differnt throttle positions is seemless, running, ecu capabilities... i can't say enough. anyway. after some tuning, heard the screamer pipe open for the first time, :DDDDDDDDDDDD... was so good to hear the gate finally open.. the pissed off sound it has about it now both on and off boost just makes my heart stop lol.. makes all the effort of the last few years all worth it... unfortunetly the fuel pump seems to have a few gremlins in it and stopped us from getting any power runs/continue to finish the tune.. picked a new pump up on the way home.. so i'll be throwing that in tomorow and hopefully strap it down for another run

got the new pump in today... chucked her back on the dyno and pretty much had to retune everything.. (shows how fucked the old pump was). anywho, ended up making 113kw @ wheels on 8-9psi.. pretty stoked with that result with the tune we put into it. we couldn't run any less boost pressure due to that being the set wastegate pressure :(... so instead we had to compensate in the tune for safety damn it. so we had to run it reasonably rich without basically any timing.. had my first drive today.. back to its home in the garage :D, only really got to give it a stab in 1st and 2nd.. fuck me... the way it comes on compared to the other turbo micra's i've been in is sooooooo different.. and best of all.. it gets on boost and just takes off.. thanks semi slicks :P.. all in all, i'm extremely happy with everything i've done to the car bar the exhaust.. its so loud.. not unbareable but i won't be able to drive it untill i put another muffler somewhere underneath the car... if i don't, its only a matter of days before the neighbours ring up the local five-o. anyway. i'll give it a good wash tomorow, and might throw some pics up.. got a bit of video footage.. but its all in proper hd and i have to somehow figure out how to convert it into normal vid to upload it... any help lol? so hopefully i'll be able to quiet it down and get it registered next week :D

Hey man sorry only just got back late last night after weekend away (Mt Tamborine). 113kw is very good figure for that boost level! Is it very laggy? (what revs?)
See your tuner is using Dyno Dynamics, Whats the name of the place you got tuned? Bet your putting out shitloads more power than my lil beast! |

[URL=http://img172.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0538g.jpg] [URL=http://g.imageshack.us/img172/img0538g.jpg/1/] i dare say its making more power then 113kw.. the tuner himself said his dyno reads a little on the low side... but meh, i'm not gonna have a whinge about how every dyno is different etc. :D. i'm happy as larry with it... laggy? mmm, not reeeeeally, allthough i can't make any real comment as when i drove it home it was peak hour, and i only got to give it a squirt once in 1st and a lil in 2nd. everyone was looking at me lol.... i've ordered another muffler! started it up just before... god damn its sex, got a roadworthy today, might go try my luck at getting it registered tomorow without taking the car with me.. if they wana see it, it'll have to wait untill i get the 2nd muffler.. cause there's no way i'm driving it to the transport department as loud as a v8 supercar lol. mmmm. not really into advertising the place my tuner works for, as it didn't really have anything to do with them, i ended up wiring the entire car myself, and vonny (the tuner) just tuned it. great guy etc. he's located just down behind autobarn kinda. |

Mercury marine coils... bro how do you re-wire these coils from the original distributor?
I have some problems witht he distributor and i wanna do up individual coils just like yours.. Was just wondering if piggybags like unichip or e-manage.. are they able to control these individual coil packs? I can see you blank out ypur distributor area aitha blank plate.. so you still use them for advancing and retarding of the timing? Need some of your kind advise here.. Any good coil packs brand you can recommend? MSD coil ex.... ? |

i'm running a completey different system all together.. my ecu setup was around the $6000au mark. mercury cdi marine coils can only be used with a cdi main unit. yes the distributor is blanked off, but it has been completey gutted and is now running a custom optical sensor, i also run an optical trigger off the flywheel aswell. (all this has been setup for things to come and reliability/accuracy) no i don't use the distributor for its normal duties. that's what the autronic sm4/500r are for.
for what your doing msd coils etc are a waste. a normal bosch coil will do the job fine... the easiest way you could setup that system on your car would be to get a nismo distributor and adaptor plate, or modify your stock distributor to accept an external coil. you cant rewire the original distributor to run the mercury coils.. A: there is only 1 ignitor on the micra.. B: there's no were near enough power to drive a cdi coil from the factory ignitor.... for a cdi coil to work properly, you need something like 600volts of electricity :).. having said that.. with a cdi system.. you can pump as much boost into the engine as you want with massive spark plug gaps all day every day and it won't miss a beat :D were as with a stock ignition i'd say any more then 20ish psi would see you blowing out spark with probably a .6mm gap.. oh and by the way.. the bigger the spark plug gap you can run, the more power, etc you will make. i guess its also worth a mention that while the ecu setup cost me a fair wack.. its also a shit load easier/tuner friendly aswell.. to give you an idea, most budget spec ecu's will require anywhere from 4-5hrs to tune from scratch.. we had the autronic tuned from first start, to full boost in 1.5hrs.. :D.. and it runs like a factory car.. does everything its suppose to do, start, idle, boost, cruise etc.. might i also add i still get 620km to a tank of fuel lol.. more then my blue car.. gotta be happy with that |

yo dude.. i can tell much much effort has been thrown into this red devil///..
the easiest way you could setup that system on your car would be to get a nismo distributor and adaptor plate, or modify your stock distributor to accept an external coil. -----------I had mine done up just like what u describe... mod the external coil to the original distributor.. Thats where my problems arise.. after long use.. the external coil seems to generate a large amount of current which is good but it burns out the plastic cap quite abit.. and the cap contact points gets a liitle worn after a long while.. wanna get it solved once and for all.. thats coil packs individual right? hai... this all is giving me a headache.. my idling is flying low when i turn on my aircon.. And it misfires when i rev it up.. its the cap problem... Thats the reason why i wanna change them to individual coils just like yours.. it'll help take away the distributor hassle/... Of course i am not running a turbo in my nissan march...I may not need so much spark... but i had quite a bit of mods in my car.. NA thou..ALL i really need is regular firing on my car.. and it really is getting on mine nerves for now.. really wanna get it fix up just like yours... do you have any wiring diagrams that could help me a litle.. sorry a little too much to ask.. but i'm green in wirings.. The looks of your car can tell.. its gonna be FAST... and mine oh mine 620KM... you gonna be happy man...!!! mine NA is only 520kM |

i guess a stand alone ecu is required.. i was doing a search and my friend was recommending this ECU to me.. VIPEC V44 (Versatile Intelligent Performance Engine Controls.) to run the idividual coils.. yeah you are right.. 4 igintiion output points are required...thanks a lot man..

yeh.. not a fan of the vipec.. but mainly because the brisbane distributor here is a criminal and can't tune a lawn mower if he tried.

Any Update on this car. Was just wondering what has happened since this series of posts. You got booked. Did you get any grief from the rego authorities etc? The site needs some excitement injection :P
