Blue Monster late night stealth quarter mile run

With 137kw at the wheels in crisp, cold Canberra winter air, it was ideal conditions for recording a late night quarter mile run. Pity about the lack of street lights and excessive wheel spin. Regardless, you can still listen to a fast set of headlights launching and screaming past our kerb-side cameraman in this video.

Blue Monster dyno run

The final tune following my engine rebuild. The T25 pushed to the max churned out 131.4kW at the wheels on "17psi boost setting". Boost actually tapered back to 15.5psi where the peak power was made. This final tune now causes both wheels to spin through the LSD right through 2nd gear when it comes hard on boost.

Micra vs Mirage - Compiled by Evade

This video is some footage of Evade embarassing a modified Mitsubishi Mirage.

The Mirage had 4-2-1 extractors, fuel pressure regulator, 2" exhaust and is a 1.5 litre engine to begin with.

The Micra Super S merely had a 2" catback exhaust. Both cars had two people on board.

During this run the micra whips it on the launch, then continues to hold the modified mirage off all the way until both drivers slow down at around 130-140Kmh.

This was one of several runs, and also the closest result. The micra was further ahead in all of the other runs. Very respectable for the almost factory CG13DE. The Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5 is far from swift in factory form, I don't have their exact 0-100kmh time, but I remember reading that it was slower than the 1.3 micra's 10.7sec.

The Blue Monster early on turbo action - Compilation by Evade

This is some footage that Evade compiled in Canberra late one night when we were driving around in my blue Super S in its original turbo form before the rebuild.

There was 2 of us in the vehicle, and I still had the terrible 175 cheesecutter tyres with steel rims still on, so traction wasn't the best. The monster still managed a 6.9 sec 0-60MPH time from the g-tec. The car was peaking on just over 11psi.

A couple of months later... with only myself in the car (less weight), and my brand new Konig alloy wheels with 195/45/15 tyres, I pulled a 6.07 sec 0-60MPH time. A great improvement for just removing 1 person and some better traction.
