I picked this car up in Sydney for my girlfriend with just 73,000Km on it and in absolutely immaculate condition.

This was a very immaculate car indeed. The paint was in perfect condition and the engine revved like brand new. It had a lot of energy and was very fun to drive. As this was my girlfriend's car, the modifications were more aesthetic. But we ended up getting the car really nice and clean looking. I liked it a lot.

Modifications:

  • Central locking installation, Jaycar 2-door central locking kit.
  • Manual lowering of steering wheel.
  • Chrome door handles.
  • Colour coded number plate cover.
  • Removed rear windscreen wiper mechanism and replaced with rubber grommet.
  • White painted gauge cluster background.
  • Custom cold air intake.
  • Extractors and 2" exhaust with heat tape around the extractors, VN commodore high flow catalytic convertor.
  • Adjustable "redline" brand fuel pressure regulator with gauge to raise fuel rail pressure to 45psi.
  • Japanese 2000 model rear clusters.
  • Whiteline 20-24mm adjustable rear swaybar.
  • Whiteline 42mm lowered springs and koni adjustable shocks.
  • Pioneer cd player.
  • Custom MDF parcel tray with Pioneer 2way 200W speakers.
  • Power steering conversion
  • Tinted windows
  • 35mm twin core copper radiator
  • Air conditioning
  • Japanese genuine Nissan dash tray and cup holders

This car produced 56.6kw at the wheels with the above basic modifications. It felt quite zippy, but not as zippy as my first micra. Mostly because of the Super S's extra weight, the larger 185/60 tyres that we were running, and the air intake wasn't as efficient as the direct over-the-engine setup on the first micra. But this car handled better thanks to the suspension modifications and decent tyres it was running.

I really liked the suspension setup on this car in terms of bang-for-your-buck value. All we did was install whiteline springs, adjustable konis and a whiteline rear swaybar. Those are the key components to a value upgrade. The car handled brilliantly and was very well balanced. As a daily driver kind of second car, I wouldn't have spent another cent in the suspension department.

The 185-60-13 tyres gave the car a really good strong hold, but made the acceleration a tad more sluggish than what I would prefer.

The brakes were kept factory because its a car that wasn't driven hard.

In the end, we ended up replacing this car with a 2000 model AUii Fairmont believe it or not. I stripped most of the aftermarket parts off the car before selling it.
