Rear brake conversion question |

Hey guys
So I have had a change in circumstance and am keeping my micra. I was wandering if it is a big process to change the rear drum brakes to Disc rotors . Cheers |

Did it on my old SLX...
You need the disc brake rear axle and handbrake cables - can't remember if the flexible brake lines are the same... I managed to get it all changed over and back up and running on a Saturday. Did it on the driveway at home. Basically you need to completely disconnect the drum axle from the suspension and brake system and then put the disc axle in its place - it's pretty self explanatory with the parts laid out. Make sure you have a decent 1/2" socket set with a stout breaker bar and a good set of metric spanners to 19mm (iirc) before you attempt it. And get up under there for a few days before hand and give all the nuts and bolts a good bath in wd40 or equivalent to make it easier. |
