Quickshift - altrenative Nissan cars - Pulsar Primera etc |
Tue 18 Nov 2014 10:14:34 AM |
I've been looking for a quickshift for my Micra K11 as an alternative to making my own as shown in the articles section here.
Ebay has several which look like they will do, and not at silly prices, but does anyone know if they would actually work Here are a couple http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=230860980803 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=400460185488 Thanks Mike |

According to this:
http://micra.com.au/technical-articles/factory-bolt-ons.php N12/N14/N15/GTi-R Short Shifter I originally spent lots of energy trying to source a short shifter for the micra. I even built a custom cut and shut style one once. Then it became common knowledge that the N12/N14/N15/GTi-R model Nissans all use identical shifters as the k11! You can usually find one for sale on Ebay that suits at least one of those models, chances are, it will slot into your k11 perfectly. Many people have installed such shifters now as nothing exists specifically for the k11. " |

Version 1
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=380409534172 Version 2 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=161150010314 The first is the original, the second is based off something B&M designed, they don't make it anymore, but it's cloned all over ebay etc. The V2 B&M actually raises the pivot point higher into the car, hence the alloy extra section, it replaces the plastic ball and bush set lower down, meaning less protruding under the car, but not by much. In theory the extra mass on the lower point of the V2 also means less effort required to change gears with the altered leverage ratio. And yes, I did far too much research into this, but only cause I too was looking to buy one, although I need to move my shifter back a bit too when I do mine, arm issues for me, shift needs to be a lot closer to me and I have long legs. |

The version 2 listed be bishop ^^ is in my opinion the best option. I have one in my car. After trying cheaper ebay ones and a cut n shut one that i welded the copy of the b&m (copy) one is the cream of the crop.

Bishop WROTE: "Version 1 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=380409534172 Version 2 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1//1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5337873294&icep_item=161150010314 The first is the original, the second is based off something B&M designed, they don't make it anymore, but it's cloned all over ebay etc. The V2 B&M actually raises the pivot point higher into the car, hence the alloy extra section, it replaces the plastic ball and bush set lower down, meaning less protruding under the car, but not by much. " bending the gearchange rod will bring the gearknob backwards bishop (as will bending the stick eh) i opted for the easier "slide the plastic ball up" method personally, the buzz that you get from the ebay ones would drive me up the wall |

Not sure about the rattle, some have been saying some do, others don't, a few have come up with ways to stop the rattle, the Pulsar forums are interesting reading on that... And yeah, while fitting mine, or pre, will get a friend to bend the shaft back a fair bit, heck I'm even considering extending the shaft, left shoulder problems are a bitch sometimes. |
