head gasket recommendation

Mon 17 Feb 2014 05:10:01 PM
Hey everyone,

My pistons are dished for 8.5:1
The head and block are machined to mate, only took a thou off I think. So I should have regular tension on my timing chain.

If I have two vrs kits lying around. Should I use the gasket from it for my engine, will it hold up to turbo application?

Should I get a nismo aluminum gasket, the thin one?

How much would that raise my compression if it is thinner than a vrs stock gasket?

Any info appreciated.

Edit: ducking autocorrect

I've always found the genuine nissan HG to seal the best against my 10psi 160bhp over several trackdays and easy to clean too.
other cheaper ebay HG ain't so good.

the £70 genuine HG is actually made by victor reinz 61-28950-00 and can be sourced cheaper from £35
