Clutch Cable

Tue 03 Dec 2013 12:31:42 AM
So, my clutch cable decided to snap at the pedal last week, purchased a new one and fitted it easy enough without too much drama. My problem is that I just cant get it adjusted. I have the 10mm nut and the turnwheel as high as it goes (toward the bulkhead side) but still no joy, the biting point is at the floor and need to have my foot slammed to the floor to change gear. The old cable was fine until it snapped. Any1 ideas? The car drivable, i've had it on the road for the last week like this but its getting irritating now. I am no mechanic but have dabbled with few car related issues. It is the correct cable and if I loosen it off slightly the pedal has no resistance at all. Almost seems as if the cable is too long.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
J

The part number for the clutch cable was superseded to another number on the nissan system, it may be slightly different than original.
you could maybe put a spacer in line whre the cable connects to clutch arm.
