My Little Beast Pt.3 |
Tue 13 Aug 2013 09:34:06 AM |
$8120 later it's home sweet home. I'll start page 3 for the final stage of the build. Engine install getting it running and such. All a matter of time and effort and trying my hardest not to bloody scratch it now iv'e got it back in my fumbling hands.

APP brake lines are no good they're too shallow and the hydraulic seat is incorrect for european made micra probably is a straight fit to a march.
Also even though they're fantastic they dont pass the adr bullshit here in aus so another $270 to get enzed to make me copies that are adr approved. the correct seat and depth. |

well completed the extraction of all under body parts suspension axles brakes and hubs. hi ho hi ho off to the powdercoaters we go. 35 items getting re coated after the flood everything is muddy and rough looking not putting brand new parts on muddy parts lol. Refurbishing all brake calipers with new seal kits new poly bushes throughout the steering and wishbones and all new bolts and nuts.

suspension and brakes back in for the most part. Still have to paint the panhard rod and wait for the right dust covers for the brake pistons in the rear.

So i've totally disgarded the idea of going and getting flash racing seats rails etc etc its all in the too hard and too expensive basket. Went to visit the local upholstery dude he gonna turn my super s seats into sportier seats and cover them in leather for a $1000 which is pretty bloody good considering all other options.
Stuck on the stoopid ARP head studs only option left is to measure measure measure give an arp wholesaler the specs and he will fashion together a set apparently. Hope the engine builder gets the measurements right and in a hastier fashion. |

arp head studs finally arrived. god only knows how long this is going to take to finish. need at least another 6-7 grand to get it running and tuned. money is making this process go very slow.

so its been taking a long time lol to finish this motor. waiting for the engine builder to not be back logged on workload is drivin me nuts. but in the meantime i bought a truck to tow around my micra.
1979 f-350 351 cleveland 2v v8 4 speed with a big ass dana 70 diff getting it turned into a 4.3m beavertail tray in march. finish the stoopid micra off then its 521ci stroked 460 crate motor for the truck |

just a quick update.
Got the cryogenically frozen cylinder head back with the hardened stainless steel valves and into my friggin possession. Waiting on crank case bolts from japan to arrive sending this sucker off monday to be ceramically coated with the headers and dump pipe. FINALLY!! can start putting this engine together now that all the parts are out of warranty :( lets hope there isn't many issues other than gearbox selector. |

Jeeze man, great to hear from you again. Cancer! Removed, hopefully?
I'm on the same track man, finally got my engine rebuild finished, dropped her in the bay, hopefully putting it down onto all four wheels with the back half of the zorst installed and all handling as well this weekend. Still need to sort intercooler, dump, exhaust mani and ecu plus tune. TL;DR I'm in the same boat, definitely finishing this year though. |
