Re-Co'd BBS Rims |
Fri 26 Oct 2012 05:52:57 PM |
Spent A LOT of time reconditioning these myself. Soda-blasted, sanded, painted original (close to) BBS Gold and polished.
Not too happy with the finish. Ended up picking up the wrong can of primer off my bench accidentally.... But they look loads better than they did, so i'm pretty happy with them. Tyres are Kumho Solus KH17's in 165/65/13 They are the only tyres in that size i could get on short notice, but they are great tyres if you're after every day, all-weather tyres. What do you guys think? |

Thank you mate :)
I actually forgot to upload a few pics of the "before" so you can see the difference. So here you go: When i bought them, they were painted silver. Even the lips. Wheel balancing weights were on the outside, so i had new ones put on the inside when i had the new tyres mounted. Bored of the silver, i painted them before they even went on my car. Bright orange was in at the time (i think) Lips were still painted silver And lets not forget the inside/rear of the rims. Also very important. They were FILTHY. Probably a good 2mm of brake dust/dirt build up. And this is after soda blasting and rinsing Oh the pain in my arms is coming back just thinking about all the hours i spent on those rims lol |

Jeez my memory is terrible.
After running the orange for a bit, i roughly polished the lips. I then painted the centers white and polished the lips a bit more. And you know the rest... |
