Experience with savage auction

Wed 25 Jan 2012 08:48:25 PM
As your all aware Melb was piss down with golf ball size hail during the xmas season so now there are plenty of car at salvage auction yards.
Gonna plan on getting one as a runabout for the inlaw. Im aware of the risk involve etc. Just want to know how much cheaper are we talking about here. Lets assume if i were to buy the same car not hail damage for 10k privately, how much would it roughly go for at the auction if the the only damage was dint hole nothing structural or mechanically ie, it didnt went for a swim etc.

lol bonnet is the least you should be worried about they are easily replaceable. Was thinking more of mainframe ie, roof, structural areas. Engine ect.
But yeah think that car will have a hard time going through the pit, mainly for a track car.

go and check out the car you are looking to buy.

Hail and storms = Flash flooding.

need to pull up the carpet and smell. and check the ECU area and seat belt re-tractor bits.

Water damage f@$ks cars very quick if not dried out soon after.

that GTR wont go for cheap. wreckers will be all over it, let alone other track car minded ppl.
