Brake Light in rear window

Thu 23 Sep 2010 08:02:51 PM
The brake light in my rear window has cracked where it bolts down on the hatch door, AGAIN.
Legally, is it possible to forgo having the brake light in the rear window?
The car does not have as many rattles now.

Mine did the same and I removed it a year ago and have not had any cops hassle me yet but by law your car can be yellow stickerd without it as one has to be fitted. After I get my new tail gate fitted I am going to get an led one fitted

My last micra didnt have one had no problems with it. and i had wheels out the guards and was slammed.
my superS one broke the other day, i was thinking a square of LEDs from Jaycar or somewhere like that installed instead..

Legally it is a defect. but normally they would only care if ur other lights werent working. Its like the H pattern for ur gearbox needs to be displayed if its not on ur gear knob.

The cops wont get u for it unless they already have a nice list on there little yellow notepad already...
