Illumination death by head unit install.

Sat 29 Aug 2009 12:05:16 AM
So I took my micra for a spin after a fiddily headunit install only to find that my speedo lights weren't working.

Indeed all my dash lights, except the clock, are dead as are my park lights and the 'lights on keys out' beeper.

My new head unit doesn't use the illumination wire so it is now disconnected. Problem perhaps?

To be brutally honest I screwed up and for reasons unknown connected the head unit's earth wire to the car's illumination wire. I've since rewired the head unit's earth properly. Could I have blown a fuse?

Props to the peeps who contributed to the head unit wiring thread too. It saved my sanity for sure :)
