Fri 10 Jul 2009 10:57:57 AM |
hey guys
the other thread was getting a bit chocka block and taking forever to load sooooo heres part 2 of the build. ive done a bit since i last updated. - i made up the brackets to mount the aircon in, simple bit of metal cut to shape and tapped so that the a/c unit screws into the bracket. the bracket was then fiberglassed in. - amde up some plates to block the 2 centre a/c vents cuz there not being used. - trimmed up the clster visor, still to mount it. - put the storage compartment in under the steering column. - brought some lcd screens and put them in - and started the body filling and snading stage. enjoy |

hey there guys
well long time no update, ive been up on the gold coast but got back yesterday and got stuck into it today...sorta, my angle grinder broke so i was limited in what i could do. i got it in and gave it a test, the screen was off axis by 3mm so i will have to fix that but no grinder, im still struggling withthe cluster visor its being annoying! either than than it all went well all fits. went to wire up the screen but i run into trouble :( on the screen cable there is the yellow which is the positive, black which is ground, then red whcih is the acc, where does this wire up to? cheers! |

hey mate,
Cable wiring: Yellow - Constant 12V for memory retention Black - Ground Red - Switched 12V, so thats what turns the screen on and off (wire to ignition) |

got the screen bracket cut out repositioned on the right angle and then reglassed it back in, put one layer on grinded down where the material met the previous glassed spot to make it smooth and flat and put some more glass on that should be my last bit of fiberglassing. other than that more filler, the yellow filler is plastic filler.
only 6 weeks til its due :shok: enjoy!! |

might be worth getting a fused distribution block, they are easy enough to come by

Marshal WROTE: "i was thinking that but im making my own custom distro block cuz im going to have one block to run the amps, downlights, swithces, gauges, and screens and im putting it on display somewhere in the car" sounds awesome, i have seen some people make their own blocks by machining solid aluminium it looks amazing. but i was also looking at some blocks by mutant and they come with a blue digital volt display that also looks awesome. i really cant wait to see the finished product, are you going to spray the dash or flock it? if you are thinking of spraying it, be warned that gloss finish, (which i had on my dash) reflects horribly off the windscreen, it gets very anoying thats why all dashes are a matt or textured. |
