GA16 Fuel Injector grief… HELP!

Hey guys, need a little help regarding Injectors. I did some research on this forum regarding the GA15 TB install, and according to some members, because of the increased intake capacity, the injectors wouldn’t be up to the task at top revs… A few guys said that the GA15 or GA16 injectors would bolt up no worries, and would do the task…

So I went and ordered a GA15 TB, as well as GA16 injectors (off the locally sold Pulsar) from Pulsar Parts in SA… However, doesn’t seem like these injectors are compatible with the CG13!

Can anyone clarify, that in the pic below, that these are GA16 injectors? (left is standard CG13 injectors, pink one is GA16)



As you can see the dilemma below is that it does not bolt into the fuel rail…



Does anyone have experience with changing injectors using the standard CG13 fuel rail? If so, what injectors did you use? Were they ‘plug-and-play’?

GA16 injectors don't fit. Only GA15 injectors, which were never sold here. You would have to obtain them from a UK member

yep, snoopy's right as usual..... My ga15 injectors are black and fitted up no worries... 15min job... but you gotta do it before you do the throttle body due to lack of clearance to the idle control solenoid...

Just want to clear up one thing...

I was after bigger injectors because I didn't want to use a fuel pressure regulator and max out my stock injectors. So really if I install the bigger injectors, I won't be requiring the FPR right? Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

well, I currently don't run one.... I have one to install (or was installed but wasn't happy with the install, so removed it, don't need it, yet). I see it as a useful tool in tuning if it has a gauge....

hay, might as well keep the pink head injectors they're good for 310cc/min (from memory) and do fit into the micra's intake manifold... just need a modded fuel rail... I plan to use these with a modded sr20 rail wihen then engine askes for more juice (after forgies, I would assume).....

The pink head ones i have are from a GA16 which is only 198cc (GA15 is 185cc), however I think the GA15 will suffice as I only want an NA setup (i currently have full exhaust, intake set up, tb and have cams + piggyback ecu to come). I will go back to pulsar parts and see if I can just swap em over.

in the uk we dont have any ga15 engines. we have ga16. the ga16 injectors are a direct fit replacement for cg10/13de injectors.
they are not like the ones you have pictured. also in uk the ga16 throttle body bolts to the k11 engine, with a few adjustments and the use of the ga16 ecu.
if you are getting new injectors i would order uk spec ga16 injectors as they would have more flow i expect than ga15.

Thanks for clearing that up Polar, so I was reading right but not the correct hemisphere right... so basically injector bolt on applications for CG13 are JDM GA15 or UKDM GA16 but not AUDM GA16.

Hi i am running 1600 injectors, but they are black and fit beautifully. sure you have the right year injectors?

Europe GA16 motors have injectors that fit.
Everywhere else in the world, that I'm aware of, got higher spec GA16 engines that have injectors that don't fit the CG fuel rail, as described above.

i have fitted my car with ga15 injectors. they were a direct bolt in. they will be for sale soon. as they do not suit a turbo application. great for NA.

Ok just called up Pulsar Parts again, I'll just exchange them for GA15 ones so should be here by end of the week for install... Great guys to deal with, highly recommend them.

Hey guys with these ga15 injectors do you need to run another computer or fuel managment or not. Can you just put them in and the standard computer be all ok.

u can run them without extra control.......but........ u will easily go out of 'closed loop' as soon as u touch the accel.... just goes rich..... so, the real answer is you need the extra control..........

Ok got the pink top JDM GA15 injectors today, should be a perfect fit! Thanks for all the help guys...

@sodaniel, how did the installation go? good thing that you were able to get the compatible fuel injector.

I believe that he has since sold the car that he was installing them into and hasn't been seen around the forums much since then. This thread hasn't been posted in, in over 2 years anyhow. That said, I believe he did have the car running with the GA15 injectors when he did have the car. Not sure if he got it 'tuned' with an SAFC or similar after that though.
