How To: Fix Busted Air Vents

Mon 01 Oct 2007 07:11:26 PM
I've noticed that STACKS of micra's have broken passenger centre console vents, and have figured out why... when people go to put the vents up, they press against the top slat of the vent and eventually they go brittle and break off.... after not being able to find a spare in good nick i decided to take two busted ones and make one good one...

this is what i started with...

i then cut out one of the spare slats from the vent on the left, and then ground it into shape so it would fit snugly in with the broken area

i mixed up some epoxy glue and hardener and glued the new slat into place, you may have to grind down the width of the spare slat to make it fit properly

the finished product, not totally perfect, but enough to improve the look of your interior quite a bit...

lesson to be learned is: be gentle on the things!
