micra rev limit

as most of you know im currently undergoing a turbo conversion.

my turbo is on its way out so am getting rebuilt to a hybrid as soon as £££££ comes my way lol

ive been told that the Engine is restricted electronically to 6000rpm. whats the deal wiv dat. i have a greddy ECU but apparantly it cant be changed without an after market rev limiter.

If you take the dizzy cap and rotor arm off, and then remove the plastic 'shield' you will uncover the tin foil timing disc. On this disc there are three slots the same and one slot that has an extra shorter slot next to it. Cover this extra hole up (you can also make it into one long slot, but there is no way back from this!!) with some tape or whatever (it has to be secure and thin enough to fit through the hall effect sensor) and, hey presto, 6800rpm.

6000? Thought 6900 was the standard rev limit.

6900 or thereabouts. I believe micra pete was saying they are somewhat variable depending on the conditions the ECU is getting like temps, airflow etc.

some good info there people, cheers. at present i have a fuel leak that should be sorted tue. soon a sthats sorted i will see exactley what it revs out at and thats running a T25 turbo and greddy Ecu thats mapped. will get back to you soon as. cheers
