Does anyone know if a 3 door Micra can have roof racks fitted without having the roof racks permanently fitted to the roof?

no, because the removable ones use the top part of where the rear door closes to hold them on im afraid,

Have seen a Super S ( when living in Tasmania) running around with roof racks but not sure how they were attached.

Or use soft-racks - only AU$40/50 on e-bay... There are roof-racks that can be attached for sure - and can be removed with an allan-key. not sure what they are called but.
