original sticker removal - help

Tue 06 Jan 2009 04:27:12 PM
Hey, i want to attempt to remove the original 'nissan MICRA' stickers off my front doors. there is also one long thin stipple patterned sticker that runs along each side. yuk! this will be a big job i think.
Can i also remove the long plastic panel protector that runs along the door?

any tips on how to get them off?

i know how to get badges off and clean off all the rubber residue, but original stickers on painted panels is another thing altogether i guess.

cheers!!

the panel protector if its colour coded will look better on

other stickers are usually removed using a solid plastic edge that won't scratch your clear coat, and a hair dryer or head gun

i find a small hair dryer puts just enough heat in to soften the glue without burning your hands off

yeah could work, i use wax and grease remover to get the last of the residue off... no particular reason only that it doesn't eat the paint as long as you make sure you get it all off afterwards

stickers/vinyl all peeled off very easily with a hair dryer. stickiness came off with eucalyptus oil.

45min later job was all done!
